Ah, yes, a Sugar reminder

I read "Sugar Blues" a long time ago - quit sugar immediately - but then . . . those darn yummy cookies!
So I just came across this info - a reminder for me and perhaps for you?

The Not-So-Sweet Side of Sugar
• Excess sugar depresses immunity (this is especially important in a more toxic environment, ie. radiation fallout)
• Sugar sours behavior, attention, and learning

Baking Soda's Multitude of Uses

Baking soda, otherwise known as bicarbonate of soda, and sodium bicarbonate.

We all know Arm & Hammer Baking soda - that yellow box that grandma, mom, then you, always put in the fridge.

Well did you ever read some of the other uses printed on the box?

Here are some fav's of mine:
BTW, it's best to get your Baking Soda at a health food store - better quality.

• the BEST deodorant ever!
take a pinch of baking soda in your hands, add a small amount of water, rub your hands together, then spread under arms, This deodorant will not fail you, and it even lasts for a couple of days!

• Morning Cleanse, Large glass of water with 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda (mix well) will help alkalize your body, and give a morning cleanse. You shouldn't taste salt, if you do, add more water. Repeat before bed.

• Clean vegetables & fruit by soaking lifting, soaking, rinsing
• Wash your hair with it - mix baking soda with warm water to get a drizzly paste. Pour onto your scalp and massage gently. You can rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar for tangle-free hair. 1/4 c vinegar 3/4 c warm water.
(I've gone back to shampoo and cream rinse - but it's a good option)

Vitamin C is Amazing

I had really bad arthritis in my hands last winter. I sat at my computer holding the mouse with a heating pad over my hand. What was happening to my body?! Alarm and refusal to accept this predicament (and pain) spurred my quest to find relief.

Clinical Guide to the Use of Vitamin C

I put 10 grams of Vitamin C in a quart jar filled with water and a bit of organic honey or maple syrup or orange juice - to taste.

I drank a quart before noon, another quart before 6pm. Yes, liquid in, liquid out.

My arthritis was gone in a week! The cold weather prevailed, but I could take it now.

I read somewhere that Linus Pauling recommended this lab for Vitamin C, it's where I get mine

Epsom Salt - Relax and Soothe your Body

Epsom salt or Magnesium Sulphate

Take a detoxifying bath using at least two cups of Epsom Salt to the warm water, and Soothingly Soak your body.

The sulfates in Epsom salt help flush toxins and heavy metals from the cells, easing muscle pain and helping the body to eliminate harmful substances.

Your skin is a highly porous membrane and adding the right minerals to your bathwater triggers a process called reverse osmosis, which actually pulls salt out of your body, and harmful toxins along with it, leaving your body feeling very soft.

Oil of Oregano

Oil of oregano is a potent germ killer. Jean Valnet, in his book The "Practice of Aromatherapy", describes how oil of oregano superceded anti-inflammatory drugs in reversing pain and inflammation and is nearly as powerful as morphine as a painkiller. The oil also possesses significant antioxidant power. Furthermore, it stimulates the flow of bile, which greatly aids digestion. ~ The Wolfe Clinic

The Wild Oregano Oil Miracle

Article by Dr. Zoltan P. Rona, MD, MSc

Oregano oil (Origanum vulgare) is well known in the Mediterranean world (Greece and Crete) for its ability to slow down food spoilage through its anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-parasitic and anti-oxidant activity. The related herbs thyme and marjoram sold in most North American supermarkets, are labeled incorrectly as oregano and possess little of wild oregano's miraculous healing properties.

HOW IT WORKS

Isomeric phenols (primarily carvacrol) in oregano oil in dilutions as low as 1/50,000 destroys Candida albicans, the Aspergillus mold, Staphylococcus, Campylobacter, Klebsiella, E.coli, Giardia, Pseudomonas, and Proteus. Another phenol constituent, thymol, boosts the immune system. These compounds also act as free radical scavengers (shield against toxins) thus preventing further tissue damage while encouraging healing.

Oil of oregano is antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiparasitic. It also has strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects and is an ideal product to use for people who suffer from CFS and/or fibromyalgia. This is not regular oregano, but a wild form (wild mountain oregano, vulgare species) of the spice, which has, until recently, not been available in Canada. Do not use a substitute or oregano from a grocery store because it will have no effect. oil of oregano natural herbal supplement offers a variety of remedies . . . .

In "The Cure is in the Cupboard", Cass Ingram, D.O., has written a book that is dedicated to unveiling the health benefits of oregano and oil of oregano. He notes that "wild oregano is a veritable natural mineral treasure-house, containing a density of minerals that would rival virtually any food".

The wild oregano is rich in a long list of minerals that includes calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, potassium, copper, boron, and manganese. Vitamins C and A (beta carotene) and niacin also are contained in oregano. Judging from its mineral content alone, it is not hard to figure out why oregano is such a valuable commodity. Consider some of oregano's other useful purposes and it becomes even more obvious.

"Oregano is one of Nature's finest preservatives", states Ingram in another book, "Supermarket Remedies". The author suggests that if oregano is used with foods such as meat, eggs, milk, or salad, you "will greatly halt the growth of microbes and, thus, reduce the risk for food poisoning."

The key element in oregano is the oil, which Foster points out "contains carvacrol and thymol as the primary components". Foster attributes the "fungicidal and worm-expellant properties" of oil of oregano to carvacrol and thymol. "These two phenols may constitute as much as 90% of (the oil)."

However, Ingram adds that these two phenols work "synergistically" and that is the reason oil of oregano packs a double punch in antiseptic power and explains why it is "infinitely more potent than commercial phenol in microbial killing power."

All of this helps make oregano oil a significant factor in treating internal and external fungi including athlete's foot. Skin conditions such a psoriasis and eczema can be improved with the treatment as well. Ingram explains the astonishing discovery that "oil of oregano outright destroys all variety of fungi and yeasts, regardless of where they reside."

In addition to fighting various fungi, oil of oregano is useful against bacteria and parasites. As Ingram asserts, "oil of oregano's antiseptic powers are immense . . . it inhibits the growth of the majority of bacteria, something that prescription antibiotics fail to accomplish." In the case of parasites, oil of oregano has had success neutralizing worms, amoeba, and protozoan.

Additional uses for oregano and oil of oregano are multi-dimensional. It has been found helpful in combating diarrhea, intestinal gas, and digestive problems, as well as sore throat and breathing difficulties. Oil of oregano can be immediately help against bee stings and many venomous bites until medical attention can be reached. Oil of oregano has even been suggested as a treatment for dandruff, diaper rash, and other skin disorders.

The benefits of oregano has gone largely unnoticed and under publicized for far too long. As Ingram notes, oregano is "one of the world's finest natural medicines, that is if it's true oregano."
. . . . .

Oregano: Nature's Healer
Dr. Cass Ingram

Dr. Cass Ingram is a physician, educator, and author of over 10 books, including his latest, "The Cure is in the Cupboard".

I spent the better part of 1995 and '96 investigating the therapeutic values of wild oregano, and publishing the first book on its health benefits called "The Cure is in the Cupboard". I call wild oregano nature's most versatile essential oil.

Oregano oil is a powerhouse for:

  • fighting yeast, fungus (skin and blood-born)

  • knocking our allergies, hay fever, and sinusitis

  • stopping infections (cold and flu).

Seaweed - today’s busy person’s age-old best health pal

Seaweed designed for busy people

Did nature design seaweed to be the super food for busy people? Life as we know it is just like a never ending to-do list. We wake up, shower, get dressed for the day, and put on the coffee.

Seaweed Questions?
Ask them here.
There are deadlines to reach. Goals to hit. Bills to pay. Dreams to fulfill. And in between the frenzy, we do our best to keep our sanity, eat right, stay well, and look good.
After all, what’s the point of all the “dream chasing” when one turns up looking ugly, wasted, and sickness-stricken when our wishes and desires DO come knocking on our doors? Wouldn’t we want to greet our life’s most cherished dreams in the pink of health, vitality and good looks?
"We can solve well over 90% of all the chronic diseases with simple, inexpensive natural therapies." -Dr. Mercola
You bet! But wait. Our breakneck schedules of chores and work let us chow on fast foods and instant meals.
Our overworked bodies leave us too tired for strength and cardio training or even just for a morning walk.
Our stressed-out psyches make us reach for sweets or alcohol to balm our over exhausted minds. And if this goes on, when dreamer meets the dream, the feeling may not be one in Cloud 9.

Seaweed - today’s busy person’s age-old best health pal

spicy cod roe 6 500
Edible seaweed, just like busy people, are hardworking marine plants that burst with multi-nutrients, no other plant life in the world can give! They feed and support every cell, tissue and organs of our bodies. Seaweed is the world’s most basic yet complete food! But don’t take my word for it, let’s learn from the thousands and thousands of experience of our great, grand ancestors… Ancient super food is our ancestor’s secret to health and longevity
For thousands of years now, our forefathers fed on a diet of edible seaweed. They roamed the earth, shorelines and harvested what turned out to be the deepest secret to super health and long life.
From the Mediterranean coasts, the Nordic countries, Iceland, Alaska, down to the Pacific coast of Hawaii and the beaches of Okinawa, they fed mostly on game, seafood, and most specially, sea vegetables.
In fact, sea or ocean vegetables were so prized during those times that at one point, sea vegetable gardens were kept in Hawaii specifically for royalty! And the first ever-recorded proof that seaweed is a perfect food source dates back to 300 B.C. in China!

So why are these greens from the sea best for busy people and other achievers like you and me?

Not only are they bearers of complete nourishment but also are natural weight loss and anti-aging “agents” as well. Now, scientists have proved that, seaweed has a very positive effect on the human body. Gillian McKeith, author of Living Food for Health, says sea vegetables contain key minerals not found anywhere else in plant form. Ms. Gillian also mentions that the body more easily absorbs the protein found in ocean vegetables than meat protein, making it one of nature’s best anti-ageing foods on earth!
Well, just like us, these sea veggies are awesome multi-taskers! Their benefits have been time-tested. Are age-old.
And with history on its side, sea vegetables today are turning out to be increasingly popular due to its multiple health benefits.
In a nutshell (or in this case, a seashell), here are
29 things seaweed can do for us
from head to toe!
Shiny and healthy hair.
  1. Amino acids, vitamins and minerals help strengthen hair strands and texture resulting in lustrous hair. Biotin, which belongs to the family of B vitamins, promotes healthier and shiny hair.
  2. Keeps the mind sharp.
Significant amount of vitamins, protein, ionic minerals and trace minerals enhances your brain’s performance specifically Asparagine, which energizes the brain and also boosts the immune system, while Boron improves mental clarity as it assists in unclogging arteries.
  3. Makes skin clear, young looking.
Rich in beta-carotene, Vitamin A, minerals and amino acids, sea veggies maintain collagen (a property necessary for smooth functioning of connective tissues) making skin supple, soft to touch. Laugh lines and wrinkles are reduced.
  4. Preserves good eyesight.
Sea vegetables are the leading sources of natural carotenes like Vitamin A (beta carotene) and bioflavonoids – antioxidants that help clear up the cellular debris that accumulate in the eyes. Bioflavonoids for one, works with prolonging Vitamin C action in the eyes, which help prevent swelling and inflammation of ocular tissues. Vitamins A and C keep vision 20/20 and help prevent “dry eye” syndrome.
  5. Improves gum health.
Aside from calcium, sea vegetables are also rich in vitamin C, one of the most essential vitamins, which keeps the gums in the pink of health.
  6. Strengthens teeth, so flash that smile.
26x the calcium of milk, seaweed strengthens teeth (and bones!). It also has Fluorine that fights tooth decay.
  7. Maintains healthy thyroid function.
Abundant natural, organically-bond iodine extracts maintain healthy thyroid function, help prevent goiter.
  8. Helps ease colds and other respiratory problems.
Seaweed’s strong anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties help prevent against colds, flu and other respiratory problems.
  9. Prevents allergies and infections.
Overflowing with vitamin B, C, minerals and amino acids and anti-inflammatory properties, sea plants enhance resistance to allergies and other infection.
  10. Strengthens the immune system.
Polynutrients in ocean vegetables help strengthen the immune system and keep the body resistant to illness and infection.
  11. Fights “roaming” free radicals. An army of antioxidants fights dangerous free radicals (cells that go wayward) for a super strong and protected immune system.
  12. Reduces cancer risks.
Powerful antioxidants and anti-cancer properties help inhibit abnormal cell growth by a whopping 95%!
  13. Stunts tumor growth. Iodine and amino acids combine to significantly reduce breast and uterine fibroids; help prevent cysts from forming.
  14. Pumps up energy!
Energy-boosting B vitamins, Vitamin C and minerals fight stress and fatigue so you stay active and alert.
  15. Enhances cell regeneration. Retards ageing!
Replete with phytochemicals and anti-ageing properties, sea plants enhance cell regeneration and rejuvenation thus, delaying ageing.
  16. Lowers blood pressure and improves blood circulation.
Sea vegetables are a very good source of magnesium, which has also been known to reduce high blood pressure; prevent stroke.
  17. Nurtures healthy heart vessels.
Seaweed curbs the formation of blood clots to help prevent atherosclerosis or hardening of the heart vessels.
  18. Normalizes cholesterol levels. Effectively lowers blood cholesterol; helps stave off the onset of chronic diseases.
  19. Supports bone health and joint function.
High magnesium content stimulates production of calcitonin (hormone), which helps increase calcium in the bones. Seaweed is also a terrific source of natural vitamin D, essential for calcium absorption, bone health and muscle function. Its Fluorine content improves bone density helping prevent osteoporosis (bone disease) in the process.
  20. Beautiful nails!
Vitamins, amino acids, minerals and enzymes in seaweed keep nails strong and healthy.
  21. Fuels weight loss naturally.
Virtually fat-free, essential fatty acids (EFAs), plant fiber and algin fuel weight loss and amazingly continue to do so even as you age!
  22. Aids digestion and waste movement.
Polysaccharides (a form of soluble fiber) in sea greens, aid in digestion by soothing the digestive and intestinal tracts. No need for laxatives!
  23. Promotes liver health.
Contains important vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes, which help prevent fatty liver development, toxic build-up and other related diseases.
  24. Detoxifies heavy metals and pollutants.
Minerals, amino acids and fiber work in unison to detoxify heavy metals and pollutants that enter the body through food and the air we breathe.
  25. Snuffs out cellulite! Antioxidants in seaweed increase your body's fat-burning ability; help skin tissue and fat cells absorb minerals. These minerals then break the chemical bond that seals the fat cells and hasten their release out of the body (through the kidneys and bladder) halting cellulite build-up.
  26. Maintains the body’s natural equilibrium.
Major and trace minerals, which are plentiful in ocean vegetables, keep life-sustaining activities in the body and maintain proper PH balance for optimal health.
  27. Supports kidney health.
Minerals in seaweed act like electrolytes, which help kidneys regain optimum function. Then, too, its fiber content aids in kidney stone prevention.
  28. Helps maintain beautiful body skin.
Amino acid, minerals and vitamin content of sea vegetables nourish the skin. Trace mineral Serine enhances skin beauty while Theonine improves skin tone.
  29. Prostate health.
High in mineral content, seaweed helps maintain healthy prostate (gland) especially in middle-aged men.
Sea vegetables alkalize the body, making it less acidic. And the more alkaline the body, the younger it is!

Seaweed and You
Get started on seaweed health! Start adding sea greens into your daily fare. Here are the more common varieties you can find at your grocery store. Go ahead and try some them on our favorite recipes. Enjoy!

Vaccines and Pregnancy Do NOT Mix

Tuesday, November 17, 2009 by: Paul Fassa, citizen journalist

(NaturalNews) From an internet forum: "I got both vaccines [seasonal and swine flu] on Thursday. I was 9 weeks pregnant. I miscarried on Sunday. I was told by several doctors to get these vaccines. Now I wish I followed my gut feeling and not get them at ALL!" This is not an isolated case.

Here's another report: "I feel like I had a healthy baby and I caused this by getting the H1N1 vaccine. My doctors pushed it. I researched online and there have been many miscarriages after the H1N1 vaccine but they haven't been reported since it is hard to say what caused the miscarriages."

She researched online, the only source reporting vaccination tragedies throughout the world.

Lies Under the Light of Truth

First of all, the Swine Flu is less harmful than a normal seasonal flu. Research with ferrets, real statistics released by independent researchers, as well as reports from uncorrupted medical authorities have confirmed this. The CDC and mainstream media bury that information. Instead, they circulate alarming false swine flu statistics.

But one mainstream media outlet, CBS Washington Unplugged, did inadvertently reveal true swine flu statistics. They had tried to get information from the CDC about swine flu episodes actually confirmed. The CDC skirted the issue and stonewalled them.

So they surveyed all 50 USA state medical laboratories themselves. The results were that most states had confirmed five percent or less of reported cases as swine flu. Most labs reported half or more cases were not any kind of flu! So much for hysteria.

Dr. Michael Bronze of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, stated on WebMD that the actual risk of pregnant women getting hospitalized for swine flu infections is one in 300 thousand.

The Australian/New Zealand's flu season was surveyed by American epidemiological statisticians. The data from around the middle of that flu season indicated that pregnant women are 99.97 percent sure of avoiding hospital care for any flu.

Of those few admitted and held in ICU 7.7 percent died. Not a high figure. And even those few had other health complications prior to being infected with the swine flu.

Vaccinations Are The Real Danger.

According to Dr. Russel Blaylock, retired neurosurgeon and author of Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills, various studies have proven that artificially stimulating the immune system causes a cytokine immune reaction that damages the forming brain of a fetus.

Throw in thimerosal mercury additives as well as formaldehyde and other toxic materials delivered in the vaccines. These circulate through the fetus if a pregnant woman is vaccinated. The child can become prone to seizures, autism, schizophrenia, and a host of other neurological problems.

There is the case of Desiree Jennings, the young Washington Redskins cheerleader who was diagnosed with dystonia by doctors at John Hopkins and Fairfax Inova. They determined her dystonia, which caused chronic severe spasms and partial paralysis, was a reaction to her seasonal flu shot.

Right, she wasn't pregnant. She was also active and healthy. But her story links the miscarriage
stories to Dr. Blaylock's conclusion, "The bottom line is vaccinating a pregnant women is vary hazardous to the mother's health as well as the baby."

As for miscarriages, there has been a history of sterilization agents planted surreptitiously in vaccines intended for women in developing countries. Some vaccines were examined and recovered before further damage could be done. More at - http://www.naturalnews.com/026907_f...

And now special flu jab centers are being set up for pregnant women here?

MANUKA HONEY Heals MRSA and more

Recently a friend told me about an acquaintence of hers who had recently returned from serving in Iraq where she caught MRSA as many in our military do.

MRSA is a virulent staph infection, that so far antibiotics can't cure, limbs are amputated, people sometimes die from it. Maybe that's why MRSA isn't talked about much.

I searched for information and found that there IS a CURE. It's important to talk about a proven treatment for these horrible ulcerations that people often continue to get once month!

This young woman was having her infections lanced - leaving her with terrible scars. MRSA is killing people and it's unfortunate that oftentimes our Western medicine closes its eyes to natural remedies

Honey has been used for centuries to heal many ailments.

Honey Therapy Could Give Diabetics Hope when Facing Possible Amputations

Manuka honey is useful for ALL wounds.

The use of honey as a wound dressing material, an ancient remedy that has been rediscovered, is becoming of increasing interest as more reports of its effectiveness are published.

CDC Reluctant to Reveal Swine Flu Statistics (VIDEO)

CDC Reluctant to Reveal Swine Flu Statistics (VIDEO)

Employees are being told they have to receive the Swine Flu vaccine or lose their jobs.

Some schools are giving children the vaccine against their parents wishes.

The reason for this is the government-declared "emergency" situation, a "pandemic" in fact, brought on by the H1N1 virus.

But CBS reveals that the federal government withheld data that contradicted their assertions -- and only released it finally after being dogged by CBS and other reporters.

What did the data show -- the data the government was so reluctant to divulge?

It shows that the vast majority of people who have been reported as having the Swine flu -- actually did not have it at all. The government's "urgent emergency" used to justify all this vaccinating -- does not appear to be borne out by reality.

Can you say "scare tactic?"

I.F. Stone once said: "All governments are run by liars and nothing they say should be believed." He was onto something.
